Kelly takes enormous joy in bringing an amazing arts program to Raleigh! Art People have always been her people – she is a writer in her spare time and a lifelong patron of the arts.  She believes in supporting education and the community and is proud to have CAC Raleigh be a sponsor to local schools and community organizations. Raleigh is a great match for Children’s Art Classes – it is a growing city with many families who need resources, community, and an opportunity for artistic expression.

Kelly has an MFA from Bennington College and a BA from New York University. She has worked for over 20 years in Human Resources across industries such as nonprofit, tech, financial services, fashion design, architecture and design. She loves to discuss parenting, purpose, and how art functions as a powerful lens on our world.

C. James Dussias grew up in Michigan and Buffalo, New York and earned his B.S. in Art Education from Buffalo State College. He has taught art in schools and art centers in New York, Iowa, Florida, and North Carolina and has over 25 years of teaching experience.

In addition to Children’s Art Classes of Raleigh, he teaches at Gorman Christian Academy K-8 in Durham, North Carolina.

James is a working artist and shows his nature themed oil paintings throughout the Triangle with the Wake Forest Guild of Artists.

He is also a former fly-fishing guide and is an avid outdoorsman.

Alicia Madigan is a retired Elementary School Art Teacher form Long Island, NY who also taught in a little art studio called Mini Monet. After graduating from Dowling College with a degree in Art Education, she got her Master’s Degree from SUNY Stonybrook.

Alicia relocated to NC in 2016 and taught in a preschool for a few years. Her loves are painting (watercolor, acrylic, oils, pastels)  and mixed media collage. As much as she enjoys making her art, she misses creating with children and is looking forward to guiding them to blossom and grow in their own creativity!
